Relax & Revitalise

Autumn and early winter is a great time to head off somewhere warm to relax and recharge the batteries before the short, cold days really start to kick in.  Another very good reason to go on holiday at this time of year is that it’s quieter and travelling is easier without the usual queues and chaos that we tend to experience during peak holiday periods.

We’d recommend staying at an all-inclusive resort in a beautiful location where you will be able to totally relax and return home feeling re-energised, ready to face the winter months ahead.

To give you an idea what this type of resort offers, here are five favourites.

Six Senses Kaplankaya, Turkey

Situated across the bay from Bodrum this stunning resort is carved into the rocks overlooking the sea. Every room is beautifully appointed, all with amazing views!

Aside from its location, the resort is particularly well known for its wonderful spa.  Here you will be gently guided towards optimal well-being, sleep and nutrition, movement and mindfulness. The facilities are top class and include the Alchemy Bar and huge hydrothermal areas.  In addition, there is a Watsu pool, Hammans, a meditation cave, beauty salon, state-of-the-art fitness and sports facilities.

Dining at the hotel is also a real treat.  There is a choice of Aegean, Mediterranean and Pan-Asian influenced cuisine where only the best and freshest ingredients are used. Six Senses support local artisan producers as well as growing their own plants in their organic garden.

Four Seasons Resort, Marrakech

Described as a “garden sanctuary in the heart of the red city” this resort is a real gem. It is set in 40 acres of Moorish gardens, fountains and pools looking out towards the Atlas Mountains in Ville Nouvelle, a peaceful suburb not far from the city’s ancient and bustling medina.

There is lots to keep you happy and occupied without leaving the hotel grounds.    Beautiful pools where you can bathe and relax afterwards on a comfortable lounger, yoga classes in the garden, a spa where you will be seriously pampered and, if you fancy doing something a little more energetic, you can play tennis on their floodlit courts.

Eating is special too with each of the three restaurants serving different cuisines, including traditional Moroccan dishes.

The private, light, spacious and comfortable bedrooms have been designed with relaxation and rest in mind.  A fabulous calm oasis!

Layana Resort & Spa Koh Lanta, Thailand

Koh Lanta is 2 hours south of Krabi international airport and reputed to be one of Thailand’s most beautiful islands.  Its long coastline has some incredible beaches, and the Layana Resort enjoys a spectacular location on a pristine, white sandy beach that stretches for three kilometres.

Aptly described as “perfection on a beach” this resort really does tick every box. Fine dining on the edge of the beach overlooking a turquoise sea. Luxurious and supremely comfortable accommodation.  Every bedroom has its own private balcony with views of the mountains and sea. Layana’s award winning, Linger Longer Spa is a haven for relaxation offering a mix of health, beauty and massage treatments that are guaranteed to restore inner harmony and wellbeing.

And, when you are not relaxing there are plenty of activities and excursions so you can explore the island and part of the mainland.

JW Marriott, Mauritius

“Revitalise in paradise, with mindful and impeccable services” at this resort situated on the legendary Le Morne Peninsula. Overlooking the lagoon, the hotel has beautiful views with the Le Morne Brabant Mountain, a UNESCO World Heritage site, as a backdrop.

The luxurious and spacious bedroom suites have a wonderful colonial feel to them.  Many have large balconies overlooking the 800m sandy beach with idyllic seaside views.

You will be treated to a complimentary breakfast and nourished on a “culinary journey” at the hotel’s five fine-dining restaurants.

During your stay treat yourself to some of the immersive experiences and various recreational activities on offer.  If you’re feeling adventurous try kite surfing at the iconic “One Eye” surf spot, just a short drive away.  For something a little more sedate, you can watch a movie at the cinema or spend time relaxing in the library with a good book.

The hotel’s fabulous Pure Spa will help revitalise your mind and body.  There are twelve treatment rooms but if you’d rather be pampered in the privacy of your own suite, an in-room service is available.  Timeless luxury in paradise!

Hilton Seychelles Northolme Resort & Spa

A luxurious hotel surrounded by tropical gardens and white sands and situated on the northwest of Mahe, near Beau Vallon Bay.

You will stay in one of the lovely private villas dotted around this resort.  Most of them have large balconies with views of the Indian Ocean and some even have their own private pool.

There is no need to go outside the hotel to eat as there is plenty of choice on site.  The Mahe restaurant serves authentic Creole cuisine. Alternatively, you can dine alfresco at The Wave or sample cocktails, light bites and live music at the Ocean Bar and restaurant.

The treatment rooms in the hotel’s spa have amazing views overlooking the Indian Ocean.  You can’t fail to unwind and relax whilst being pampered and listening to the sound of the sea.  The Spa’s signature Escape Journey treatment is particularly special as it uses locally produced products.  And, for anyone who feels they might have overdone the sunbathing you can opt for a soothing Aloe Vera wrap.

To enable you to explore the coast and the sea life the hotel provides free kayaks and snorkelling equipment.  Also, there is good sized outdoor pool and a well-equipped gym.

Five very different, but equally fabulous resorts.   Staying at an inclusive resort like the ones described is a totally spoiling and relaxing experience.  You don’t have to think or plan anything as everything is set up to ensure you can just relax and do as little, or as much, as you like.   For more details and other suggestions please get in touch either by ringing 020 3441 6848 or email [email protected]
