In the summer I was invited to spend three nights at the fabulous Kouros Boutique Hotel in Mykonos. This five star hotel is situated above the marina and has amazing views over both the old and new ports, Delos Island and the Aegean Sea. Very conveniently located the hotel is only a short stroll away from Mykonos town, which is well worth visiting. It is extremely attractive with pretty whitewashed buildings and lots of winding streets to explore. The town is a true treasure trove of interesting shops, galleries, churches, bars and restaurants.
The hotel itself is also full of character – a mix of traditional and modern architecture. It was completely refurbished in 2018 by the well known French interior designer, Fabienne Spahn.
I particularly like the accommodation. The bedrooms and suites all have balconies and lovely sea-views. They are very spacious, light and comfortable. Some of the suites have their own jacuzzi and some a private pool.
There is also a good size communal swimming pool with a nice terrace surrounding it and plenty of comfortable sun loungers, perfect for relaxing while enjoying a cocktail (or two!). It became our favourite spot to watch the sunset.
Eating at the hotel is a real treat. The restaurant perfectly situated with stunning sea views and the food is delicious. Described as “traditional Mediterranean cuisine with a modern twist” the chef uses fresh, locally sourced ingredients and to accompany your dinner there is a decent wine list which includes a good selection of Greek wines.
When you want to truly unwind the hotel’s Zoe Spa offers some wonderful treatments as well as an aromatherapy hot tub, a colour rain therapy shower and a hammam. For anyone who likes to keep up their fitness training on holiday there is also a well equipped gym.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The service was exemplary and being situated so close to Mykonos town is a real bonus. All in all, I would highly recommend the Kouros Boutique Hotel especially for couples looking to stay somewhere romantic in a beautiful and sophisticated part of Greece.
